MAIN HOUSE
The concept of the build was to replicate a feeling; the feeling you get being human and being surrounded by vast unadulterated landscape. The intention was to strip away the human ego and become and feel small… only then to allow an opportunity to reconnect the human deeply seeded need to be connected to nature, which we often ignore.
The Rammed Earth structure is constructed with layers of material sourced from the property itself which is unprecedented in the high desert. It has been crafted with intentional framed panoramic city and mountain views through its custom floor to ceiling doors and windows, museum quality acoustics, concrete soaking tubs that look as though they are sculpted from the floor material. Purposeful skylights allow for daylight to pour in, and several grand patios private and common are intended for entertaining or quietly taking in the views. The designer's passion for artisan crafted materials and lighting design is evident and manifested in the details. The open kitchen was designed by world renowned Norm Architects and manufactured in Europe. An intimate formal living room invites one to pour a cocktail and have a conversation in front of the double sided fireplace grounded by a massive hearth formed of stone from the property. The lounge was created to feel as though you are relaxing outdoors with 2 enormous skylights, a double set of 9' tall french doors and an inlaid brick floor that overflows to marry the indoor space with the outdoors.
